The monument, dedicated to all that
spread the Portuguese culture in the world, presents this exhibition as part
their memory alive, evoking the effort and courage to all men that are
a testimony of the various facets of the Portuguese history of overseas.
This album of Memories. Portuguese India 1954-62, created the
from photographs, documentation and memorabilia of the Portuguese military,
booty collected by Fernanda Paradise, with the support of the National Association of
Prisoners of war (ANPG), portrays the lives of military personnel, prisoners of
war in the wake of the Indian occupation of the Portuguese territories in India,
in December 1961, until his repatriation.

Supplement to the understanding of the historical and political context of mid
TWENTIETH century, on which are inscribed the events narrated.
This exhibition marks the 50 anniversary of the return of
the last military contingent of Portuguese India.
