The Garden Guerra Junqueiro, best known for the Garden
Star, is a unique space in the city, by the set of features that
stars. It is an enclosed garden with a beautiful iron railings, with gates
that allow for all four sides. One of the notable parts of this garden is
the bandstand, in iron worked, once "scene of frequent concerts
filarmónicos ".

History: the garden, originally "Star Ride", was
built in the mid-19th century on the initiative of the Marquis of Tomar, in
land acquired by CML thanks to a donation from benefactor Baron
Barcelinhos worth "five tales of Kings". The construction of the garden featured
also with a donation equivalent to Joaquim Manuel Monteiro, who later
received the title of Viscount, and then Count the star. Garden construction began the 30 of
September 1842 with the help of the architect, Pedro José Pezerat. The
plantations were driven by John Francis gardeners and the Frenchman Jean
Bonard, being inaugurated on April 3, 1852. The Capital was a
different garden, reflecting in its design, the new romantic conception of
English park.
