The former "Nest estate mercy" which included the area of the Palace has a pretty old source Aciprestes. In the 17th century this property was known as "large double".
By the existing references it is estimated that only in the 18th century this Palace started to be called Aciprestes Palace.
In the 18th century the Palace was donated by d. José I to Alexandre de Gusmão,
Knight of the order of Christ, Fidalgo of the Royal household and the brother of Bartolomeu de Gusmão.
The Palace suffered damage with the earthquake of 1755.
In the 19th century the estate was owned by the Viscount of Rio Seco.
In this period here had great receptions place frequented by the aristocracy of the time.
In the TWENTIETH century the Palace 60 suffers several renovation work.
Of the original building remains the Chapel, formerly dedicated to Nossa Sra. do Rosário, where stands an altar in polychrome wood and tiles from the 18th century.
In this fifth there is the structure of an old Orchard, a well with windmill, a tank and a cool house.
Around the House there are small walls lined with tiles of single figure of the 18th century.
Currently, the Palácio dos Aciprestes hosts the Marques de Pombal Foundation, which operates in the area of social welfare, culture, scientific research, arts, music and sport.
