The beach of S. Pedro do Estoril features an areal of considerable dimensions in low-water periods, assuming as most striking framework the geological "accident" from the tip of the Salt to the West.
The Ponta do Sal is composed mainly by limestones and marls with 90 and 120 million years old.

During the bathing season is a guarded Beach and signposted and has a Medical/first aid Station.
