Cabo Carvoeiro, is one of the most emblematic points of the municipality of Peniche and one of the most recognised at national level.
At this location, a witness to numerous shipwrecks throughout history, geological structures can be unique, see fishermen who usually occupy the cliffs and contemplating the sea until the Berlengas.
Cape Carvoeiro Lighthouse:
The lighthouse this cable is one of six lighthouses warrants build by a Charter of February 1, 1758 Marquês de Pombal, who created the service of lighthouses in Portugal, being thus one of the oldest still in operation.
This Lighthouse consists of a quadrangular Tower, in masonry, being located 57 metres above sea level and 27 feet high.
The light of this Lighthouse has a range of 15 nautical miles (approximately 28 miles).
