The genesis of the rural settlement of the Input Vat is
associated with the presence of Porto das Barcas (Vat entry).
Currently the densest part of the cluster is
contained between the main access to Zambujeira do Mar (Municipal Road No.
1158) and the access to the port, there are still buildings arranged along the
access to the port, other isolated along the crest of the cliff and even a band of
buildings bordering the Fiscal guard post.
The Porto das Barcas is considered a safe haven for the
recreational boating in good weather conditions, according to the notice No. 2 of
2010 issued by the captaincy of Porto de Sines.
